A Professor Emeritus of Physics and former Chair of the Department of Applied Science at New York University, leads a Google TechTalks discussion on the future of energy systems and how global warming, overpopulation, depletion of resources, poverty, and water purification will need to be handled in the future as carbon-based energy resources are depleted. The need for energy source transformation is described that will enable us to fuel our high tech civilization. The benefits are presented for renewable energy from both space and terrestrial-based alternative systems.
